Eastern Marshall County EMS Celebrates 10 Years of EMS Excellence

Eastern Marshall County EMS was formed on January 1, 2015 as an independent, non-profit contractor by and for the Toluca-Rutland and Wenona Fire Protection Districts to provide emergency medical care and transport for their respective fire districts.  As EMC-EMS celebrates their 10th Anniversary, they are remembering the struggles and accomplishments in providing the emergency services needed by our communities.  More importantly, EMC-EMS is looking forward to improving and sustaining their emergency medical services.

As with all rural EMS, EMC-EMS is not immune from the headwinds all EMS Services face:
1) Staffing,
2) Funding,
3) Low operating revenue, and
4) Equipment acquisition/replacement.

Each of these headwinds will be reviewed in subsequent articles in your favorite newspaper to help you better understand the challenges your EMS faces and the steps being taken to minimize the impact they have in providing the emergency responses needed.

Throughout this anniversary year, EMC-EMC has several community events planned to help improve the health and safety of our communities.  Stay tuned.  In the meantime, as you encounter members of the Service offer them your sincere gratitude for what they do for our community.
